I have a question about the strength of the PIR, I am looking at insulating the slab in my 1970s house but I don’t plan on putting down underfloor heating. I have one snag in that I have a 450 litre fish tank. Would the PIR be strong enough to hold a good half a ton of this on 6 legs after screeding or do you think it would be wise to use a thinner layer of insulation there and to use floorboard on that section to spread load directly onto the slab underneath?
